Best multi-port USB charger?

You don't need to spend a lot.

There is this Orico DSP-4U , which is 5V 2.4A x 4 34W max, only $38 from MSY, sufficient for everything and to top up your phone in the middle of the day. Walk straight into MSY walk out in a few minutes. Well, if the queue isn't long.

5V at 2.4A (12W) is no longer sufficient for everything. Many new laptops can be powered by USB-C ports that require 45W or more, which is where the USB-C ports that offer PD power upto 60W (or even more) are slowly become more available.

I have a selection of chargers some cheap some expensive but often find the
charger that comes with the device to be the best. As an example the charger with my Samsung S10 will charge from nearly flat to full in about 1 hour but the best of my multi port chargers is nearly 50% longer. Mrs TOF has an iphone and it also charges best with the supplied charger.
In saying this I do travel with a multi point charger for convenience.
I use an app (Ampere) that shows charge rate in real time.
I check various cables and chargers with often surprising results. Some of the cheaper cables perform as well, if not better, than some expensive cables.
Same with chargers !

The fine print on the chargers is pretty much impossible to read.
So glad others have noticed this!! Thought I was the only one... I rely on my Kogan 4 port charger
Not the fastest, but cheap, comes with adapters and still good enough to recharge all the family devices overnight, especially when using my multi-cables that allows lightning and USB-C charging from the same USB-A socket...

My only caution would be to make sure one of these chargers has enough juice to charge all your devices at once. I have heard anecdotes about some not able to do that. Try it out before you leave home.

Of course, you can always buy a US plug adapter with multiple USB ports and also a Europe plug adapter for it - so you can try it at home first then use the plug adapter in trip. If it charges OK at home, it should charge OK in travel.

Used Ikea charger before, but switched to Anker PowerPort Speed 5 after I had problem charging multiple devices with my old Ikea charger. Only complain with my Anker charger is the weight, not ideal if you are travelling light, but definitely worth it.

Agree re the weight but I presume the weight is more windings hence why Anker can output full power to all the ports at the same time (unlike many brands)

I use this multi-port fast 3.0 USB charge, 40W, 5V/8A output, no issue so far.
