Best SC per $ You have done or doing?!

i found on the aussie site not all the flights come up the booking system is different on the australian site for some reason, also the USA site does not take a aust C\Card so you will have to call them BUT they will wave booking fee as your having issue with web site.
The Airline Tickets and Airline Reservations from American Airlines | AA.com will take an Oz credit card ;)

However, before doing this I always try to duplicate a good value route/fare found on AA.com on the Oz portal. If I can duplicate I then compare the costs (exchange rate, forex charge etc) and it is often less expensive than the US portal.

not for me when you get to payment part it asks for country for billing address and Australia not in list you have to go to aus portal and the search on there is useless.

i even called AA USA and they would not take AUS c\card over phone as well only way was on AUS portal OR going down to airport with tix on hold and them charging a fee for that.

Put in the USA, enter your address with a valid zip code, maybe that of where you may be staying. Enter enough information that your actual residential address can be discerned.

In these days e-ticketing, it is very rare that these details are ever actually perused by humans.

My current personal best effort is a sort-of SC run I'm half-way through completing at the moment - AUD $1.78 per SC.

Just did a SFO - LAX instant upgrade one yesterday all went smoothly only on the ground for 20 mins in LAX not even enough time for a coffee and bathroom break!

The AA "Instant Upgrade" are very cheap.

Can you confirm you were paid SC correctly or are they paid as Y only?

Trying to read the fare rules it looks like it books as Y or an Economy fare.

I don't really want to stuff around unless it earns decent SCs

lovestotravel,

This has been used by many here on quite a few occasions and I can assure you that they do post as F SC. I last used this in Sept/Oct this year.

What he said :)

Do a search on YUP/KUP on here, and you'll see. They book into P class, which does indeed credit as F.

Used several of these around a month ago to bump me up to WP.

Not all of them are cheap though, select your routes carefully to ensure maximum value:)

Thanks, I just need a few extra SC to keep status in next year as next year will be much quieter than this year.

Thanks again for answering the very simple question, but I haven't looked at earning SC from other airlines previously!

Must retain wanker status.........

Another "easy" one is (F26) LAX-(xSFO-)SEA on the AA Codeshare on AS metal SFO-SEA) which books into full F and earns 150SC's for AUD417 (r/t 810 for 300 SC's).

Note this particular fare is fully refundable.

Need 305 SC by the end of Jan to get gold. Any economical options to achieve this? Pref without leaving Aus....

Short answer? No!

Least Expensive? Perhaps 4 SYD-CBR r/t in Business Class (D) for 320 SC's and 10000 QFF points at a cost of $2800.

fly by wire,

Welcome to AFF.

If you include the NE island of Oz then including SYD-AKL-SYD brings the price way down as the LAN flight is a shade under $A700 for 160 SC.

... or approx $A1400 for 320 SC.

Thanks for that, that is a lot better, I might give it a miss this year but ill keep that in mind for next year. I'm planning a eurotrip for june/july. I'm a bit of a n00b at the FF game, so, if I understand correct, you get SC on any OW airlines is that right, even without QF flight numbers?

Correct.
Put your QF FF number into the booking and there you go. Be aware there are some fare classes on some of the carriers that do not earn though.
