It really depends on a combination of how tall you are and to a lesser extent the flight time.

I'm 183cm and am OK with row 1 Window for flights up to about 2.5 hours. Longer than that I am looking for row 2 aisle.

What order does VA ask for meals in domestic business?

Have flown VA a few times in business domestic. I noticed for the meal option they have something like 4 to 5 meals available for each of the two options. When all 8 seats are full there is always a handful of people that only have one meal option available. The first time I flew they asked...

This is down to personal preference. What one person thinks is the best Business seat, another will say it's the worst. I personally like 2A unless 2F has better views.

I think we can all agree that 9A is definitely the worst seat though.

What I have noticed the forward seated FA (not the CM) do (far too regularly for it to be more than a co-incidence, and a lot of [mostly-female] passengers taking advantage of far too regularly, for it not to be a service standard), is offer to place row 1 passenger handbags, which have been placed on the floor against the bulkhead, into the overhead storage once boarding is complete, with the corresponding offer to retrieve them once the seat belt sign is off. (Noting that the forward seated FA is usually the one to place the cabin divider rope in place, before disappearing off down to the aft galley... so they seem to retrieve the bags, before they put up the rope, then go.) Note: this applies to handbags/personal item size, not wheelie bins.

After having tried pretty much all of them, I now prefer 1D/1F for my wife and me. Row 1 I think is more comfortable for a couple as the person on the window can get in/out without bothering the person on the aisle. Also, 1D has the bulk head a bit wider than 1C, which is more comfortable when people boarding after you don't see your outstretched legs and trip over them or the FA hits them when attending if you're in 1C. You also mostly get the first choice of meals in the first row, although not always. But, hey, they're all pretty good, especially if you get a flight with the new seats.

As others say, it's subjective. I prefer 1D - to get choice of meal, ease with which 1F can get past me if needs be, no-one dropping seat back into my lap, less claustrophobic.

I've just booked 6 J flights with VA. Most in seat 1A, but when not available, 1F.

I like the freedom from seatbacks in your face and not having to climb over your neighbour.

And I do like the window. But, YMMV...
