They do, sort of.
ANZ will complete a pre-existing screening… pretty similar to other companies. If they cover it you have the choice to proceed (have it listed in the policy) and pay a $75 fee for the screening. If you decide not to proceed you don’t have to pay the $75.
There is no extra charge for the pre-existing cover itself. It’s either covered, or not.
I guess ANZ doesn’t work where, for example, you might have a high-risk condition where you might get cover if you pay $500 or $1000 to be covered for that condition with other companies.
In my case I have a condition which has been treated and is successfully under management, including medication. Haven’t been in hospital for the last 12 months, don’t have any upcoming appointments for further exploratory treatment, etc. This was covered ‘for free’, so I paid the $75 and they added the pre-existing to the policy.
