Which VISA/MASTER card do you have and how many points can a dollar earn towards Krisflyer? Any cap?

I use westpac platinum altitude mastercard that comes with amex card. The earn rate is 1 for 1 on the mastercard and on the amex is 3 points per $.

The transfer rate is .5 points per $.

If there is a better one would love to know.

Citi Select way out in front of any other card on earn rate for KFpts - eff earn of 1.33KFpts/$1 spend on purchases in OZ / eff earn 3.33KFpts/$1 spend overseas.

Citi Select Visa is 1.33 on domestic purchases and 3.33 on international. They are the net points per dollar you transfer to SQ Kris when YOU are ready.

Sounds great earn rates. Will have to investigate and see how much the fees are for the card.

It's 700 annual fee and you need a taxable income of $120,000 minimum.
Citi may have a cheaper card so you could call them.

Citi do have a cheaper card - CitiBusiness Gold - $250pa I think - eff earn rate 0.833KFpts/$1 spend oz - spend capped at 250K.

Thanks for the reply.

Will bump up the income EOFY and apply for Citi Select.

In my situation, I use a Citibank Platinum Rewards Card, which earns 1.25 CB points per $1, which then converts to KF at 3:2. So effectively 0.83 KF points per $1. Mine's one of those promotional annual free cards so I use it where Amex isn't accepted ;)

I think the citibank select card is one of the best for SQ using a VISA...

I think unquestionably the best available in Aust right now - and will be even more valuable going forward for those chasing KF pts.

I am currently in Europe for 3 weeks - will prolly spend 20K on credit card in that time on accom / food / drinks / travel / gifts - not 1 cent will go on Cent card at 1.5pts/$1 spend - 100% will go on Citi Select at effective earn 3.33 KFpts/$1 spend.

AMEX Australia - sit up and take notice - even with pts earning rates post Oct 1 you still cannot get $1 of inter spend away from Select cardholders.

Mostly the Citi Select points cost about a point a dollar if they use the fee that they are allowed to charge is actually charged.
If the barrier to entry to Select is too high then post #11 from Alanslegal is a very good second choice.
Cruiser Elite I agree with you about not using Amex internationally if you have a Select card to get a better result.
We still use 28 degrees card for cash in Europe to pay for the small stuff.

But what are the foreign conversion/fx fees when you use it overseas? Does this somewhat negate the 3.33 points per $ spent?

Yes we got Suites so our Kris points really grew wings yesterday to London and I thought it was fantastic to get the use of 2 suites each so a bed in one and movies and dining in the the other one.
So Citi Select and Westpac Platinum Kris Flyer Amex are the best two cards.
i am warehousing points in Westpac Platinum Amex that can get transferred to CX,MH and SQ and probably others so if it takes a couple of years to accumulate the points this avoids the 3 year time clock starting.

Is there currently any credit card available in Australia (including Amex) which will earn a higher rate of KF points than the Citi Select?
