Scams like these

BEWARE
Received this SMS this morning. It did get a rise in blood pressure.

Just when I was thinking Coles had pushed me into a corner to force turning on auto-transfer I received another SMS

And then another;

Be careful you do not get caught!
I have received these messages too. It's a phishing scam.

They (our scammer friends) are now able to spoof the sender as "AU_ATO", not even end of the tax year, and it says I have a "tax debt".

No point taking that further so I left.
I am with Telstra prepaid, but have never joined "Telstra points". as the 3 year expiry is not worth it, might as well just pay with the QP/Qantas pay card, and earn QFF points there, small as it is, but still, at least its easier to keep that QFF points alive, ...

I get these along with other variations regularly. Delete and mark as spam. And yes, no such thing as Coles points so an immediate flag that it’s a scam.

Thats what I was trying to get across to her...with Qantas so long as I keep earning points they dont expire and I can save them up for something useful...Telstra's way about all anyone can get is a movie ticket unless you are a big business spending $$$$

My phone automatically sent these to the spam folder. I occasionally check what's there and saw these messages few days ago.
My phone is my friend, watching out for me.

Yeah I got one of those SMS messages this morning too…very easy to get caught out if you are not paying attention.

Back to the topic, what are people’s thoughts re utilising this offer given the 30k max bonus points…worth doing the transfer and losing points (think it will be about 13k points on my end) or hold out for another offer to come around?

There will be very few Flybuys points whales who have never switched on auto-transfer. The bonuses for switching it on have never been fantastic and even a 15% bonus for every single point hardly seems worth holding out for. Even if you had a million Flybuys that would only net you an extra 75,000 Velocity points. Would that really be worth so many years of waiting to pounce?

FYI: Flybuys points and dollars will not expire as long as you scan your Flybuys card at least once a year.

I have defanged the URLs.

I did that when I initially posted. I see they are activated again!
I'll leave it until you have seen it before I change the URL completely.
The URLs now point to "Null" and have been otherwise subtly altered to fail as displayed.

I left them in a subtly altered state so viewers could get an idea of what to watch out for.
