Afternoon all

I’ve noticed today that Singapore’s upgrade bidding system now allows for PE to Business upgrades. Until recently they only had Economy to PE.

Has anyone tested this out? My parents are flying SQ PE to Europe later this year and would if they were sent an invitation to bid, probably would. Just wanted to get an idea of the minimum and maximum price range for bidding.

Thanks in advance.

Interesting that they're doing this now. SQ has always been quite protective of its J cabin.

I wonder if Y -> J upgrades are now being offered on two-class aircraft?

This prompted me to look for info on the SQ website as I have premium economy flights next month:
mySQupgrade

Can't get that link to work. But I'm interested as I am close to using points to upgrade from Y to J on a SQ SIN-IST flight next year on a plane that has no PE, whereas the rest of my open-jaw return booking is all on PE.

So based on my bookings here are some prices which you can expect. They obviously are allowing Y to J upgrades as it's been offered on a 2 class 777 from Brisbane. I've got 7 Singapore flights coming up and here is what the bid website says for each of them...

December 2017 - Brisbane - Singapore (booked in Economy [W Fare] - A350) and bid upgrades to Premium Economy available with $190 per person as the minimum and $415 per person as the maximum.

December 2017 - Singapore - Amsterdam (booked in Premium Economy [P Fare] - A350) and apparently not eligible to be upgraded.

January 2018 - Zurich - Singapore (booked in Premium Economy [P Fare] - A380) and also apparently not eligible to be upgraded.

January 2018 - Singapore - Brisbane (booked in Economy [W Fare] - A350) and bid upgrades to Premium Economy also available with $190 per person as the minimum and $415 per person as the maximum.

March 2018 - Brisbane - Singapore (booked in Economy [W Fare] - B772) and bid upgrades to Business available with $805 per person as the minimum and $1340 per person as the maximum.

March 2018 - Singapore - Hanoi (booked in Economy [W Fare] - B772) and apparently not eligible to be upgraded.

April 2018 - Singapore - Brisbane (booked in Economy [N Fare] - A350) and bid upgrades to Premium Economy also available with $190 per person as the minimum and $415 per person as the maximum.

I've also got 2 silk air flights in the next few months but neither of them are eligible.

My flights are all in P class so doubt they will be eligible...

Wanted a PE booking MEL-IST in June next year. MEL-SIN was fine, but there is no PE on the SIN-IST flight, so I was booked into Y. Now I have enough points to upgrade that to J, but was told I have to waitlist. Yet when I search for that flight I see that J seats are available, with no "only x seats left" limitation. Does SQ allow upgrades from Y to J only for a limited number of seats on each flight? I know I'm looking a long way ahead, but is there anything I can or should be doing to facilitate achieving the upgrade?
