I have heared a rumour that QF tele staff have been offered unlimited Overtime next Tuesday. Could this point to a big sale coming?

Sounds interesting!

Maybe they got the week wrong and thought DJ were releasing their big sale next Tuesday!!??

A network wide sale is up now. Standard sale fares, but runs right through to next June.

Or just staffing the center with an adequate number of staff for a change? ;)

*hopes no sale* - just booked NYC in Feb 2010

When I called I got straight through to Qantas Premium.

Looking at booking SIN-FRA rtn, so..... *hopes for a 2-4-1 or some other cool thing!*

is the current QF sale for domestic destinations only? got an email about it, but no mention of international destinations, or anything in J or F. Hope it's one of those 2-for-1 sales, otherwise i'm going for SQ, as their current sale is rathe comprehensive and at quite a good rate too.

Nothing exciting about the current sale. Airfares during school holidays September/October are still ridiculous with poor availability and it looks like a couple more weekends in Brisbane in October for me. :(

Sunrise are talking about a big aviation related announcement on Thursday, wonder if its related ??

Isn't the new Qantas ad due to launch very shortly? It seems to be very Seven Network orientated as they are running a "making of" show on Saturday. That could be the extent of this "exciting announcement".

IMHO I don't think so. Why unlimited overtime on Tuesday? Why not Sunday/Monday if that was the case.

My TA has also confirmed that she has heard an industry rumour that QF are up to some big sale next week!

Hmmm... my guess...

Next year is Qantas' 90th anniversary... so the special sale will be:

90,000 seats at $90!

this will include limited seats to Asia/UK/USA and the bulk of seats to NZ (where a $90 fare won't represent so much of a loss once flights are designated 'domestic') and seats to domestic destinations.

(other than that there seems to be a couple of QF A380 events on 25 and 26 August - maybe a sale linked to those??)

I believe VH-OQD (4th Qantas 388) is due around then; maybe that's linked.

Did anyone see the big anouncement:?:

Yes, it was the (not)news that JQ were now going to operate SYD-MEL and shake up the industry ! Just after it was an interview with NZ's PM about this afternoons announcment of relaxation of international requirements for trans-tasman flights.
