Biz Class to France

you can book using the Singapore website. Aussie address and credit card is no problem. $2465 one way per person? or for 2? If per person that's quite expensive! Sri Lankan had one way specials to LON/PAR for just over $1000 this year. Cheap add-on to get to AMS from there. (I did a quick search, those fares haven't been released yet for UL in September next year)

Have just completed BNE/HKG - stop 24 hours - then HKG/CDG on CX in J, once again we could not fault the lounges in HK, the food or service on board, simply brilliant.

Agree it all just works. Did you get to the pier F?

Sure prices come down. A year out is a long time. Unless there is a particular special event (Grand Prix, Olympics, New Year etc etc), airlines will introduce specials as they attempt to fill seats.

There are a whole range of sites to keep across airfares - AFF has a 'cheap international airfare' thread. There's OZbargain Travel, googleflights and a half dozen blogs.

Just wondeing what sort of pricing these sales are?

Ie do prices ever come down to the same as economy

Eg if aus to europe was 1500 vis economy?
Do biz class ever go sub 2000?

after getting back to normal life and reflecting on my great first business class experience,

even though im a foodie, ive realised that the two things that make me want to do it again is the angled beds with lots of leg room and width PLUS the loung accesses and that althgouh the food was great, it comes a distant second in terms of priority at the prices,

I think premium ecnomoy is the way to go for me if I were paying full price, I assume the seats are very similar, and all the other bits I can either pay for, eg food, drinks etc.

I can also pay for lounge access for most places but I will still continue to accumulate points furiously, plus I still have 1mill points left :)

I think perhaps you are looking forward to full flat beds, not angled beds :) Angles beds are outdated and only left on a few airlines.

Premium economy is nothing like business class. It is essentially economy, with a bit extra width, and around 7 inches more legroom. For the same price as premium economy all the way from Australia to Europe, you can fly economy to Asia and then full business to Europe (separate tickets). Premium economy only really makes sense if you need to get from Australia to Europe in a hurry and can't afford a couple extra hours transit time in Asia.

Lounge access? In general, paid lounges don't offer the same level of service or amenity as airline lounges. But it can vary by location (and cost).

oh thank you mel-traveller,
you ahve been a great help

I must admit, premium economy is fairly new so I didnt take much notice of it,
sounds like prem economy is quite expensive for very little benefit

and I didnt know that paid lounges offer the same level as airline lounges,I did the one in singapore via the priority pass lounge and they had the option to pay so I just assumed all lounges you could pay

also, have a friend who is in Malaysia for trainst a few days ago,m she started working at a flight centre recently, and she said she managed to sweet talk her way into the lounge!!!!

maybe I should join as well :)

they are flying the A350 from HAN to CDG. Full flat beds. Flights from Australia are recliner seats.

If you are willing to fly to singapore on Jetstar or Scoot (in economy), you can shave $1000-$1200 off the above fare (that would be the cost of $2200 vietnam airlines business class from Singapore, and $600 to get from australia to singapore).
