Hi,

The Qantas online booking system doesn't seem to have any option for Bangkok to/from Tokyo other than via Heathrow (which is clearly not convenient). Does anyone know any way around this? I was looking for SYD - NRT - BKK - SYD but this doesn't seem possible.

BTW: Trying to make the booking with QFF if that makes a difference.

Look at the info on Circle Asia fares on the OneWorld web site:

oneworld - Circle Asia & South West Pacific

Aim at booking and ticketing through American Airlines since they do not charge exorbitant fuel surcharges like Qantas. To do this you may need to start your journey with a Canberra Sydney sector - there is a daily flight with an AA flight number.

maybe others can post some further advice on this...

The online QFF booking engine doesn't* see the flights that might be available from CX or JAL that might be useful here, and really can only be done by ringing (and paying the fee!)

(*CX and JL flights are coming soon to the QFF booking engine)

There are 2 flights daily BKK-NRT and Vice Versa with JAL airlines.

There are also options via HKG with Cathay Pacific.

Thanks for the advice, the Cirlce Asia & South West Pacific fares look interesting, I'll definitely look further into that.

Cheers

Currently doing the same journey, flew RJ in J from BKK-HKG (for only THB 9990 which at the time of booking was A$310, now about A$450 - which BTW was an absolutely brilliant deal for a 3.5hr flight), and then CX from HKG-NRT, which was approximately $400. But as mentioned earlier I think the oneworld Circle Asia Fare is probably your best bet.
