Hi, do I need to clear immigration and customs at BKK for international to international transit (QF to VN) with hand luggage only, assuming I have boarding pass for my VN flight?

No need to clear. Just go from one gate to the next. You’ll have to clear transit security.

If you don’t have a boarding pass there are transfer desks… but double check where it is before you start out… I went to the wrong one and had to walk the 1.6kms of whatever it is from one end of the airport to the other!

Thanks for that. Very helpful!

Hi,
As I mentioned in the EK F thread, my flight in May is now JQ to BKK thence on to EK 385 at ~0115.

Now this seemed like a great idea at the time as it gets me to Europe a day earlier than my original ticket. My current plan is; I have a four hr bus ride followed by an 8 hr JQ then about a five hour layover in BKK. I note there are "sleeping pods" but they are landside. so by the time I allow for in and out, security etc it probably is not worth it.

As nice as the new EK lounge looks to be, I probably do not need five hours there.

Do any of the BKK regulars have any tips on things to do or spots to become horizontal for a few hours inside the airport?

Also, I suppose I need to be in good shape for the F experience.

Apparently there is a 'Miracle Transit Hotel' airside. May be worth a Google.
Jeepers! 190 for four hours, captive market I suppose........

I used to sleep on the floor at Darwin for a few hours, I suppose I can do that at BKK:cool:
