Blossoms, bullet train and beyond: exploring Japan by Land and Sea.

Pity no Shinkansen in the same picture but yes
Ah. They travel too fast to capture them and - on the other side.

But this is the one we were on.

This is how to order food in the green car.

And the result. The ice cream is superb and rock hard. Takes about 15 minutes to start. I always think of Qantas butter at this time. The strawberry sandwich may be my last. It wasn’t so good. Just ate the strawberries. And a case of all show at front and no backing.

I'd brought a roll of duct tape and a roll of plastic bags. Which came in useful for this. I'd heard duct tape was an essential on cruises 🤷‍♀️. And this time it was.
Gentle reminder for the trip home @Pushka - any leftover tape in checked luggage!

What's the white filling?. Cream?
It's called deliciousness. 😂

Temps have varied - when the sun comes out it's also humid. So at most long sleeve T's, temp around 21. Kyoto was cold. Around 17c but it had been up to 26 the week prior and then it snowed. It's also very windy now stripping any blossom. But when the blossom goes all the fabulous spring flowers come out. It was spring flower festival here today. Photos later.

Oh dear 🤭. Likely we will toss it out. Luggage is so jam packed I'm not even buying the grandies yet. I wonder if MrP really needs all his socks.

Thanks. Thats all the encouragement I needed. Am loving Wise so much but have used all my pre purchased yen on - nothing tanglibe. 😂.
Today we visited Daiso shop and gosh, how fantastic are they! Bought all this stuff (someone else broke their glasses) and other things and it came to all of ¥550. I'll be back....

So. Back to work. Last night we ventured into Chinatown for dinner which was excellent after the insanely expensive tourist meal we had with our friends.

Viking Venus was her on an overnight and judging by the people in the lobby, many had left. We then walked over to the Red Brick warehouse which for RAdelaideans is like the Jam Factory. Beautiful but expensive artisan craftwork. I do have my eye on a couple of trinkets for the kiddies but maybe MrPs socks could be used to protect them? 😂

The warehouses were ravaged by an earthquake 7.2 a couple of centuries ago and now rebuilt.

But before we arrived there we passed by the Festival of Flowers - a stunning display of beautiful spring flowers.

Channeling @jukebox333 - today we went to......the other Noodlecup museum in Yokohama. 😂. It was an accident. MrP was trying out some new functions on his google maps and wanted to find the way to the Ferris Wheel. To my delight it was opposite the Noodle museum. I wasn't all that interested in the Ferris wheel but had tagged along and so of course when MrP said 'you don't want to do the noodle thing do you?' in a somewhat faltering voice, I said, yes. Of course. 😆

But the main game was upstairs. You don't really want to make a cup of noodles do you? He asked. 🤭😂. But he played along.

He actually got quite engrossed in designing his cup. He's like that. He loves design. He loved the beautiful staircase.

Turning the wheel to add the compressed noodles and selecting the base - curry, chilli etc, then selecting the addons.
IMG_9012.jpeg IMG_9014.jpeg IMG_9015.jpeg

Then sealing the cup. Wrapping it in a seal.

Then putting in a bag that is then pumped to look like this:

And so we walked back to the hotel looking like two complete idiotic tourists.

I love love love Daiso. It’s a must do on every trip we take. I spent several hours browsing Daiso Sapporo this last trip. So many things I didn’t know I needed 😆
