OT but the Cavills never owned the BC, it was leased by them, of course now Woolies own the BC!
Yup, and they started operating the Norman before the BC was sold and new management brought in, IIRC. There were siblings operating them - one at BC, one at the Norman. I think the new management at the Creek came in just before the 100th birthday? Or a similar milestone??

I / we Could be a starter, depends upon Mrs GPH. we tend to keep sundays a bit low key

What’s the parking situation around there like?

I see a big car park but I take it that finding a spot will be difficult?

Parking is generally ok; harder on Friday and Saturday nights. Every time I have been with a car, need to look but not to difficult, enough street parking as well.

I'm out sorry BB, kids rugby carnival on. Have a great birthday though.

Have a happy birthday Bundy Bear. Unfortunately I cannot attend as I will be arriving from SYD at ~7:35pm so will be looking to get to my apartment as quickly as possible after a few quite ales in the BNE business lounge on arrival.

I will see you next week anyway....

I should be a starter Bundy Bear. Not sure yet about +1 as his work plans are 'up in the air' as usual.

If you were flying with Virgin Australia you could have tried to use the fly forward and get in earlier.

Don't drink too much on arrival into Brisbane you have work the next day.

Bundy Bear - many greetings and salutations for your birthday! I hope you have a lovely celebration with a great bunch of AFFers. :)

Katie, are you likley to attend?
GPH - unlikely, Sunday is very much a family night for us. Not to mention my main night for ironing. :/

strangely enough i'm in BNE that night, might come along, its just down the road from my sisters place where I am staying!

I won't be able to make it unfortunately. Have a great birthday though :)

Hi BB,

Unforntunately Lisa and I are out. Sunday night, kids home, work next day, alcohol and an 80k drive home...............

I know you'll have a great time with a great bunch of people and I'm already wishing I was there!

It's a bit like that for us too, if I don't get my Sunday ......well my week is not off to a good start.
Looking forward to catching up in AKL , will have Mrs GPH with me ( Netty on this site).

I made a booking for 10 people;

Where: Norman Hotel 102 Ipswich Road Woolloongabba QLD 4102
Time: Onwards from 6:30pm.

They have a bar area which I think I might be there from about 6-6:15pm for a drink before dinner.

See some of you tomorrow.

I'll probably be there around that time - perhaps I'll help you prop it up (front bar facing Ipswich Rd I assume?)

Again I would like to wish Bevan a very Happy Birthday for tomorrow, sadly it appears I won't be able to make my planned trip on the 26th either, the rain event
we had last week means I have to replace some carpets and I will need to be here to let them in.
Hope to catch up with you soon though,
Cheers

What, no live updates or photos - disappointing, you must be slipping (or should that be sipping) ;)
