Indeed. One thing to watch out for is that other OneWorld airlines may not accept a QF codeshare flight for earning points with their scheme.

Eg in the Qantas T&C's they have this clause for most/all OneWorld airlines:

"Excluded: Points and Status Credits are not earned on Codeshare Flights operated by airlines other than oneworld™ Alliance Airlines."

So a Cathay Pacific flight # that is actually a Malaysia Airlines flight won't earn with Qantas. It will earn with Cathay's program if it is an eligible fare according to their rules...
