dcooper- Did you post in the right thread? Is this in regards to this promo?

Been using this quite a bit and points have been posting in about 4 weeks from paying :)

However, be careful, as some hotels on the site don't require payment at time of booking and instead require you to pay them at time of checkin. As a result you do not get the points!

you are so lucky!!

I have always gotten it between 6-8 week mark.

I suppose the value of the points can be around 4-5c but I tend to find I get better rates using hotels.com / orbitz / ratestogo when they have promo coupons. 10-20% off can mean a star upgrade in terms of the accommodation. Throw in some cash back with starthere and I've yet to be tempted to go after the bonus points.

Glad to see this promotion has been extended into 2014. A great way to build up points when traveling.

Best to double check that the bonus points get credited.

Booked in October and stayed in December and they had fail to credit the points automatically so had to call up which they later checked and rectified with their marketing department. So took probably under 4 months.

Noticed the link was dead. To be honest I never used it as I always worked out how much HotelClub was compared to RatesToGo using there 20% off coupon and just purchasing the same amount of points from Amex, and it came out the same without the hassle of waiting 4 months for the points to land from HotelClub.

I used it quite a few times for unaligned hotels to garner heaps of MR points. Worked particularly well for me as I am reimbursed the cost of international hotels. Looking like I'll change my strategy to IHG now.
Pointshound, rocketmiles and kaligo offer a similar service -lots of points for a hotel that is unlikely to be the cheapest rate you can find-but lack the flexibility of MR points

that's a shame - used it a number of times where price was competitive to earn a nice haul of points. Might have to go with Agoda (for VFF earn), although sometimes their choice seems limited.

I wonder if it the victim of the falling AUD. Presumably hotelclub are paying out more MR points per overseas hotel as the AUD cost goes up. Maybe when they can replenish their stock with cheaper Aussie MR points they might bring it back.
Most of the hotel schemes are pegged to the USD which avoids this (Agoda comes to mind as an exception)
