Bonus Points criteria - Amex Velocity Card

I wish to apply for an Amex Velocity card but have an existing Qantas Business card. I thought if it was a business card then it would not affect the 18 month criteria for holding an Amex card but phone rep said you cannot get bonus if you hold Amex business card. Is this correct?

The rep is correct. You’re only eligible for a bonus from Amex if you haven’t held a card with them for 18 months, have held a David Jones Amex only, or currently hold a corporate card.
