Bonus Points

Not sure if this was an error or not but I just looked at my Bonus points, usually as a gold you would get the standard 50% loading, my flight earnt 990 points and the bonus was 743.. That is a loading of 75%... Is this a new change??

Looks very similar to mine, on the 17th it was normal points, now it's the extra bonus, same dates as yours.. (Since the upgrade)

Can anyone that has maybe Just turned Gold, Silver or Red join the discussion with another example??

Could that be a sign things are not far away??

Maybe it's a price match with Qantas (you know when Qantas increased the gold bonus, that sent their platinums into a virtual meltdown!)

Just curious about how many SC's you all have? Are any of you just over gold or are some you, perhaps, you know maybe double-ish or more the # required for Gold? MIght have inadvertently discovered a platinum benefit.

I am on 504 SCs.

So the platinum threshold is either 501, 502, or 503 ... or my theory doesn't quite stack up. Possibly the latter.

Well, I received the standard 50% bonus for my two flights on Friday.... and I've got 1122 SCs rolling year to date! Will let you know what pops up for my flight yesterdxay & today.

Just noticed that the VA rep is 'currently browsing this thread' so if it's a problem, it's just been seen by VA!

I received a 75% bonus for flights over the weekend. That can only be a good thing.

Same here as well .. MEL-BNE and BNE-MEL, each of which credited with 990 base points and 743 bonus points. Nice!

I actually thought that was a cross between bonus points and bogus points



Edit.....PS I didn't receive 75% a couple of weeks ago, but that was my change from silver to gold, so no great secrets there.

Thats the thing though, the 75% has only happened since the upgrade, it was 50% prior to that.. I reckon it is an error and they will be changed back..

I notice that you received 40 SC's for the flight, what type of ticket was it? 40 SC's would match a PE (or taster upgrade) or are we seeing a bump in SC's as well?

It was PE, the only way to go at present

I think in this case the bonus points are 1. totally unexpected and 2. more than we were supposed to get and 3. only for last weekend. I wouldn't go looking for them.

Only 50% bonus for me so maybe just a glitch or have I been short changed. :?: Current year 160 SC's.
