A bit later in the year, we're looking at going from the Sunshine Coast to Cairns. It's less than convenient with QF and co, and I see that Bonza have a direct service that suits. Whilst part of me is reluctant, in particular with regard to the aircraft, the other part that likes convenient and cheap is considering a look. I was surprised to find that they don't have a booking web site, and are only using phone apps. Reviews of the apps are far from flattering. Do web sites cost that much more than apps? Surely the computer booking system behind them must be similar.

What's the feedback on them so far?

In reality, companies prefer punters to use their apps as they can control the data unlike web browser portals where the customer has more "say" over what is shared.

As for Bonza, these threads may assist:

Bonza can’t notify you of a cancelled flight via the website (unless you check). But their app can dingle in you pocket at anytime.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I flew Bonza a few weeks into their operation and was very impressed. Great service on the ground and on board. If you don't mind using the App I wouldn't hesitate.

Their app isn’t that advanced. I flew with them recently and had a 3 hour delay (due to crewing requirements). The only updates were via text message sent pretty close to the scheduled departure time. Could be some room for improvement. Looking at the aircraft’s previous sectors for that day it was clear early on a substantial delay was guaranteed.

I will say, one thing they did well despite the delay was issue digital vouchers to be spent at the airport or onboard, and were added to your phone as Bonza Bucks in Apple Pay.

I’ll second this. Having flown them twice now, their onboard product is certainly impressive for a start up. Their staff have been great, seats relatively comfortable (USB/power ports a plus), and the food for sale onboard good quality and reasonably priced.

If I was on a tight time frame, I’d be hesitant booking with them again until reliability improves, but their onboard product is certainly favourable. I notice Melbourne to Toowoomba has a 6 hour delay again today.
