Booked two different flights with AA (phone) a few hours ago... I'd call rather than wait for them to come online.

booked 2 QF73 J seats for 21JUL 2016! There was a seat showing almost everyday that week. Finally was able to book a QFF seat! amazing! (even with $500 taxes).

So for two QF award seats in J return would be about a grand all up?.

When I booked an award from Lax last week it ended up as $596 for fees. I used 28 degrees so no currency fees. It was first, but fees seemed the same for F and J.

Looks like the well is drying up for SYD/SFO/SYD, but the I need it for 2 pax in J, waiting for Aug. to book for 2016.

good luck - from what I saw for lax - syd there were generally 2 J available, as long as you booked when they were released and on the right day - some days had no availability.

Yes its called the QF award seat lottery, in our case we are going to SEA and YVR then other US cities so that entry point (SFO) serves us best.
