Hello, I recentIy bought an economy seat BCN to MEL on Qatar (travel in Aug). At the time of booking the website would only accept the Qatar FF#. I called QR customer service to let them know of my Qantas FF#. I have gold status on Qantas. They said they added the Qantas FF# to my booking, however, except from being able to choose a "preferred seat" with no fees, I cannot see anywhere that they added the Qantas FF#. Any idea where to confirm this? Also, what about access to the Gold lounge in Doha? What am I supposed to show them to get access? Are they going to credit points to my Qantas account?
Thanks!

Are you viewing this from within the Qantas App/Wesbite or are you using the Qatar "Manage My bookings" page?

See here

I tried to add the trip to my Qantas app, but this doesnt work (as expected) and I cannot see it on "Manage my booking" on the Qatar page either....
QR bookings no longer appear in QF trips. Stopped working about a year ago. I assume something to do with 2FA / OTP that QR implemented to view / manage bookings.

Not that you could do anything via QF anyway.

On the QR website, manage booking, Trip Summary screen, under Passenger Details will be passenger/eTicket field and hyperlink. Click the hyperlink and the FF number appears (only the number - no QF or anything IME)Screenshot 2025-03-28 16.33.58.png

This is a known bug and a issue with Qatar at the moment (ongoing since Sep 2024). They've apparently been having fraud/scam issues so after booking the frequent flyer number is locked and can't be changed until in person at check in, the call/chat staff can't do anything with the one exception being if you have OWS or OWE status (for example QF Gold/Plat) then they can add the status number as an addition into the booking (noting the original one still stays) mainly for seat selection benefits.

There has been a lot of discussion about this on FlyerTalk (although worth pointing out some of the earlier posts had no idea):

Oh, just notice this. You didn’t mention in the other thread that you could only enter a QR number?

That’s odd, I’ve had multiple QR bookings in the last 2 years that I’ve been able to enter my QFF details at the time of booking.

Were you logged into your QR account at the time?

That’s the trap when booking direct. Never login with an airline account if you plan to use another FF# (unless you know for sure you can amend it later on line or at the airport).

There was another similar issue with AA mentioned here not that long ago.

As always, make sure your fare is in an eligible category to earn QF points and also that the DOH-MEL leg will earn a pathetic amount of points and SC’s
