Hey all,

We’re wanting to book a Sydney Tokyo trip around September this year and were keen to book ANA - for myself, the wife and both kids.

Both my wife and I are VA gold members and would be keen to earn status on ANA. Don’t mind flying VA to Tokyo but not via Brisbane (prefer direct flights).

Do you think if we take the plunge and book now in March, that should the VA/ANA codeshare be finalised in the meantime we would be able to earn VA status credits for a September flight?

thanks!

Shawn

Maybe go via SQ via SIN for the this Sept trip, at least you will be guaranteed to earn VA points and VA SC.
That agreement, VA and SQ at the least is more forward than the VA and NH deal, with this corona virus thing, who knows what will happen.
More flights with SQ, so even if the flight you are booked on is cancelled, they can at the least put you onto that same day flight, later than the one you booked.
The talk is talk the agreement might be finalised by then, but you don't want the liaision to be like the VA and Air Canada deal, where its only a limited partnership, the talk of a full FF partnership seems to have been put on the back burner.
