Would it be possible to book day by day for a week with the same room and hotel - Pullman Cairns?
Any requirement to check out and check in again?

Depends the reason why you’re doing it this way.

If it’s for a bonus point promotion it may be ineligible.

Also bear in mind that while it’s often possible to stay in the room with multiple bookings, sometimes scheduling doesn’t allow it…. rooms can be booked in blocks and your room may be needed as part of a longer booking by someone else.

No major issues otherwise.

Most will try and accomodate you but no guarantee that you will be allowed to stay in the same room and for operational requirements.
If you are doing it deliberately to get extra welcome drinks and gifts they most likely will not allow that

What’s your angle?

That’ll give a clue to how accommodating the property is likely to be.

Just in case i need to switch to a different hotel so that I won't have to pay for the un stay days.
Why would you need to "switch" hotels?
Unless trying to game the system as posts 3 & 4.

Well
Here in Paris we encountered 2 coffee pods per stay

We threatened to to check out every night because that way we’d get 2 per night !

Sometimes properties make these kind of dumb decisions and that’s a😅😄😙 away around “stoopid”

You'll be OK, I do this on occasion when I travel for work (adding extra days at the start or the end of a booking). You won't get extra welcome drinks or anything like that (as already mentioned), the hotel will treat it as a single stay. Give them a heads up at check-in that you're doing it and they'll let you know what you need to do, or if they're expecting to be full at some point. Have had no problem doing this at almost all hotel chains.
