We are planning to book a hire car with Hertz from Paris CDG. The plan is for my wife to pick up and then she will drive to Germany where she will pick me up and then we continue to travel around Germany on a short holiday. I will then leave her (and my daughter) and fly home from Munich. They will continue their holiday and arrive back in Paris to drop of the car.

As I will be booking the car under my name using my Hertz #1 President Circle card will they allow my wife to pick up the car in Paris considering I won't be there with my card etc... I know my wife can be nominated as a second driver.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Always an interesting situation with a huge YMMV.

I have been able to have someone else collect the card but is has been a pain due to additional paperwork/hoops - these days I try to avoid it.

Note that its a requirement for both drivers to be present to add an additional driver, meaning you should book it in your wife's name then present yourself with her at Hertz when you meet to get you added to the RA.
