Booking Hotels through Qantas Site

Recently I wanted to book a specific hotel in Croatia which wasnt part of any international hotel rewards program that I could see, a promotion on the Qantas site got me both the best price and bonus reward points, so Qantas got my booking. However this only worked out to be be best for 2 nights out of the 30+ nights Im away.

These points have yet to post to my account and I checked out almost 3 weeks ago, i know it says to wait up to 6 weeks for the points, but i wonder why such a delay given flight points post within 24-72 hours.

I have occasionally used Qantas Hotels, apart from sometimes good QFF points earn, they've occasionally been among the cheapest.

Don't use them anymore because their IT locks out all my credit cards when I'm in a third world country. Their over the phone change procedure is inconvenient too. For these reasons I've ceased using them altogether. Hooroo!

Cheers skip

I should have updated earlier, but the points did eventually post after about 6 weeks. So not a great way rp boost points if you need them in a hurry.

Yes, this is a low GI way to earn points. I use them when I'm not booking with Hilton (my only hotel loyalty) as they are nearly always as competitive as agoda and others, and the extra points is the icing on top. And when they do their 9 points per dollar offer - which is quite often - it's the cherry on top.

I tend to use Expedia+ for anything non-IHG/Hilton/Accor. I find I’m using the accrued $$ credits more regularly than QFF points I’d earn! Expedia VIP Gold+ claims to offer perks at selected VIP properties.
