I wish to pay cash for flights (not points).
I would like to know how I can book one way flights from London TO Perth via British Airways – being a code share partner with Qantas?
Am I correct in thinking that I will earn Qantas points on this type of booking?

Looking forward to any possible guidance on the validity of my question and
also how to do the booking so I can earn QFF points & not BA points.

Peter

Hi Peter, welcome to AFF.

British Airways doesn't codeshare with Qantas on the non-stop LHR-PER flight, but you could book British Airways to Singapore and then Singapore-Perth on a BA codeshare operated by Qantas, if you wanted to.

The BA website mainly offers options on Qatar Airways though, as BA codeshares from London to Perth.

You could earn Qantas points regardless of whether you're booked on a BA or QF code, as long as you've booked an eligible fare class:

That said, if you want to earn Qantas points, I'm not sure why you want to book via British Airways? Why not just book direct with Qantas?

To me you are over thinking this and making it complicated. (By mentioning code shares).
Why book via BA? Do you have a BA credit? Do you have a BAEC ff account?

Can earn points/avios on any eligible flight. A native flight or codeshare. In Oneworld the marketing flight (flight number) determines earnings. The operating flight needs to be an eligible flight. All OW Oneworld operated flights will be classed as eligible. With revenue based ffp's determining earning can be complicated. Not all flights earn points/avios. Some low cost flights can earn nothing.
If you enter your QF freq flyer number in the reservation you will earn QF points, according to the QF t&c's.
If you enter your BA freq flyer number in the reservation you will earn BA avios, according to the BAEC t&c's.

You’ll also have more luck using your QC membership for lounge assess in LHR (and SIN - if you ended up going that way on QF).
