Hi,

Relatively new, so I apologise for a basic question - if I book a room online through accorhotels with my platinum number, would the benefits accrue to a friend/family or do I need to physically be present and show my card upon check-in? I'm thinking for things like room upgrades & lounge access. For example, if my wife weren't travelling with me and arrived before I did...

Thanks

You must be present at check-in - having said that if you email the hotel in advance and let them know your partner will check-in first that should be OK but I'm not sure what would happen if you don't eventually show up...

Fair enough, that doesn't surprise me really. Bit of a shame though, as we won't book with them, whereas if I could get the upgrade etc. I likely would. Oh well!

Cheers

I do it quite often with my wife. I put a note on the booking when doing the reservation asking them to allow my wife to check-in prior to my arrival and advise them she will have a credit card with her to present at check-in. Give them her full name and leave my phone number "in case they have any questions". I don't show up. I don't think it is a good idea to allow friends to check-in though
