I really don't want to have to phone the Guest Centre as I can never get much sense out of them other than the most basic enquiries.

I'm looking at flying to Japan with ANA, premium economy. I can book J or Y on the Virgin site, but not P.E. I can book on the ANA site and give my Velocity Number. I'm not desparately worried about the points (though I'd like them) but the stat creds would be essential.

Does anybody know for sure whether I'd get Velocity stat creds awarded? Thanks!

Main point is finding which is an eligible fare class:
(((You can't book premY on the VA website, as this service is not operated on a VA plane, you have to do the booking for premY in G, E, or N class on the NH website.)))
Cut and paste below:>>>
(Earn Status Credits with
All Nippon Airways

Earn Status Credits when you travel in an eligible fare class on All Nippon Airways operated flights with an NH or VA flight number. The Status Credits you earn will depend on where you fly and the fare purchased.

Calculate the number of Status Credits you can earn by using our Mileage Calculator to determine the number of miles you are flying. Then refer to the table below with your chosen Fare Type.
To make a booking please visit Virginaustralia.com, ANA.co or contact your preferred travel agent and enter your Velocity Frequent Flyer Member details at time of booking.<<<

Ideally, if all goes well, you can get quite a lot of SC from Au - Japan, but just do keep all BP so you can do a claim for VFF points or VFF SC that do not appear.
Pre covid, I thought I was able to do dummy bookings on the NH website, for premY bookings.

Thank you so much for this clear and comprehensive reply. Those tables and fare codes have always been a mystery to me, you have done a great job of explaining it and unlocking them!

One further question ...

Am I right that if we book direct on ANA website and include our Velocity membership details on the form at time of booking ..... then that is all we need do to ensure we get velocity points and SCs for the flights, keeping our boarding passes as a precaution?

Keep your BP, your VA# should/will be printed on the NH boarding pass.

Jeez, I was look at flights to Japan ex Perth in September. ANA are quoting nearly 10,000 and on some.days over for biz return! Think I'd rather do the VA MAX or via SIN on SQ than pay that! Even QF will get me to London and back for that price ...🫣
