Bookings at Qantas F Lounge

I used the kerbside check in two weekends ago in MEL for a J flight to AKL. I honestly thought that this was the Emerald, WP, First check in that QF are supposed to have anyway re. the oneworld agreement. There is no other Emerald/F check in once inside the main hall.

The GF was amazed at the spa and got a 45 minute treatment. I, on the other hand sampled then re-sampled the excellent champagne on offer. We arrived 1:45min before boarding and the lounge was pretty empty. I note that the spa wasn't offered and I had to ask. Maybe only F pax get offered the spa with clued in WP's getting the next best slots?

I think djsflynn may have the best idea if you have the flexibility.

Even if the OP misses the spa he will still start his trip in great style.

HI all

Long time lurker, first time poster who is confused about the F lounge protocols.

Fiance and I are flying F to BKK on 31st Dec (by then we shall be 2 day old newlyweds:D) which is an award (not points upgrade) flight. We booked it through Qantas, but the only flight availability was BA.

Soooooo, does that mean we can't use the spa? Given that it is an award flight and operated by BA?

thanks!

Welcome to AFF LadyMuck :)

Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials ...

You can can always call and ask, don't mention award, just mention travelling F. It may or may not help to mention the purpose of your trip ;)

Welcome to AFF and congratulations on the upcoming events!

As a BA F passenger (does not make any difference being an award or paid ticket) you can use the QF F Lounge in SYD. You can use all the facilities in the lounge including the spa. However, only QF F passengers are invited to make advance bookings for spa slots. All other lounge guests can use the spa but can not make advance bookings. Just pop into the spa and ask about slot availability.

Thanks guys.

It's all very exciting - the honeymoon etc. I haven't flown F for a loooong time (last time was an upgrade on IB between BCN and ORY - shortest flight of my life!) and think I am more excited about that than the trip. But not really:lol:

I am a bit of a day-spa devotee, and the interior of the F lounge spa just looks amazing. Excite!

Recently flew Y to Auckland and on checking in at F counter in MEL, my wife was commenting to our daughter how her neck was sore and one of the attendants came up and asked if she would like a massage. On saying yes, the attendant rang thru to the lounge and found a vacancy in 20 mins time.
So I suggust also asking at checkin.
