If I book a flex flight by 1 April, I currently earn status based on the old system. If I subsequently change that flight eg to a different date after 2 April, will I still earn status based on the original booking i.e. the old rate or will I then be subject to the new 1 point for every $12? I have read the conditions, just cannot find a clear answer.

There's nothing that I can see in the T&Cs that says changes disqualify a booking from the pre-April rates, so I would assume plain language means if the PNR is created prior to that date any changes will still earn at the current rates.

That said, I wouldn't hang my hat on it.

Which is why I was asking! I will try calling and seeing if they will give a definitive answer. I just realised that booking now may make achieving status next year a lot easier if I get points for miles instead of points per $ spend.

I received a response that earnings will be based on the original booking date, regardless of the new travel date as long as in the same reservation. The same applies if the fare is upgraded.
