Boost/Renew Status for cash - new?

I've not seen this before - is this new or am I slow?

A win/win if you ask me - customers get to pay cash to boost or renew their status and the airline makes more money.

As long as benefits are not 'enhanced' QF and DJ should look at this....

As an offer only open to those that are relatively close to the status, it's not bad. But still think it's not terribly good for the program. I could see VA doing it before QF

QF have basically Just done this, however they offered DSC to help people achieve or Boost Status. Perhaps this will become an annual thing?
