Easy, I have email/mobile number as well as contact with his brother who lives here in BNE (I worked with him in late 80's -well before I joined AFF/FT and met John and then pieced together we had the connection of his brother).

Ah, thanks for posting - it's sad that I missed this - I need to get something to keep my AA account ticking over before May.

beardoc, the easiest way I find is to rent a car through Hertz and have my points credit to AA. I generally get hire cars a couple of times a year, so enough for regular activity. One last week was only $54AUD but will keep it turning over.

Lindsay, thanks - I hadn't thought of that!

How many AA miles did you get for that rental?

Not interested in accruing VS miles for Hertz and Avis car rentals? Usually 1,000 VS miles per rental and 22,000 VS miles is enough for a one-way economy award SYD-HKG, or 27,000 miles in PE and 40,000 miles in J.

According to my AAccount:
Code:
Date Transaction Description* Mileage Bonus Total
           Starting Balance 29,724
01/17/11 HERTZ 1 DY HERTZ CAR RENTAL 34 0 34

No, don't want to spread my mileage too far JohnK, having these credit to AA allows it to continue to tick over for a further 18 months (whilst my QF one does through CC spend, flying and Woolies). I don't do enough car hire (maybe 4-5 per year) to have it worthwhile to go anywhere else.
