The scones will be stale by Sunday night! I can't make any Sunday as I will be in North Queensland. Sorry!

It would be nice to catch up, but unfortunately I am in court on Monday morning in the DPRV, so I will be franticly preparing on Sunday.

As for venues, I like Bar Barossa. I often go there with colleagues when in BrisVegas. It is also a DC bonus partner.

I haven't been to
Merthyr Bowls... What is with their website?

I hope the barefoot bowls club has improved in the last couple of years. Had a work Christmas function there a couple of years ago and it was absolutely dire. Definitely not up to BR standards ...

Alrighty.....
I'm flying VA... My first J flight with them.

Sorry. Just had to repost this !!

Enjoy 1C...I actually prefer 1D/1F so you can see the CS/CC during takeoff.
Sydney DJ lounge is fairly average (although make sure you use the special entrance), Brisbane lounge (which has been renovated) is much nicer.

Unfortunately not up in Bris till Mon, spending my life travelling SYD-BNE at present

I just looked at catching the train in. If we go to Southbank it's easy. If we go to New Farm I catch a train then somewhere between one and three buses

I'm thinking public transport in then I'll have Mr come pick me up.

There's a ferry terminal pretty close to the bowls club. Easier than buses.

Well I think I'll be good for Sunday night, but can't be too late - some of us still need to work the next day :)

Tossing up between public transport, or driving with the hope of finding parking and the proviso of no alcohol (which doesn't really phase me).

Will be good to catch up with the Boss again! :D

I'd also suggest catching up for breakfast the next day, but I'm guessing that bossreggie is not exactly a morning person.......

My take on choice..

Bar barossa is great for wines.. great food.. opposite the Brisbane marriott...fantastic place...citi CC free wine member if it matters

the villager on George..close to the hilton....handy for everyone as it is in the city... good wines.. good spirits....good times guaranteed...

Merthyr Bowls club.... good for beer...barefoot bowls...fantastic on a day with the perfect weather.....do not get confused with the new farm bowls club which is close by as well.

Jade buddha...in the CBD.. riverfront...great for drinks....food...and having good music...the best part is if we do not like like..we can move somewhere else!!! like the Bavarian Beer cafe..

Bavarian Beer cafe... very close to Buddhas...great place for german beers...good wines... hearty German meals...and close to Bar Barossa if we need something better....

I have arranged transport to my hotel. I guess I will be free around 1ish.

Where do people want to meet up initially??

I once had drinks on the roof at limes hotel. So long as it is not a rubbish night and you dress warmly. It is possibly another good spot?

I vote a huge no to Jade Buddha on Sundays it is little more than a low rent meat market, filled w ppl who live in the outer suburbs.
