Sorry, now that I'm actually at a computer, I can write a little more, so, we have an area reserved at Euro for us from 6:30 to around 8:15, when we will be heading over to Jervois. It will be a cash bar. For those of you who don't know where Euro is, It's near the Hilton, (Map), on the left hand side if you're walking towards the water, on the right if you're coming from the Hilton.

Goodo, will try to pop down for a drink before you guys head off for a steak!

There's a bunch of us arriving at 2:35 on QF55. I'll wander down from the crowne to euro for drinks at 6:30

If there is a lounge at Hilton will probably having a few before 6.30, happy to guest if able to

There's no exec lounge at the Hilton but there is a lounge bar ;)
Golds and Diamonds get two drink vouchers per day so they should start the evening off nicely...

Having previously decided that I would like to arrive in time for dinner in AKL, the die was cast for the day. Luckily my PG dropped me off early, & QF put me on the earlier flight. Had a quick cuppa lounge before boarding, where they served a tasty little quiche for morning tea. In SYD, no waiting before the great Tarmac tour aka transfer bus to T1. Straight into the Flounge without pausing at the DF shops.
Greeted warmly at the door without any need to show my BP ( I do like that). Once upstairs, the fern wall is looking particularly good btw, offered " my usual table". With only about an hour to go I Choose the tomato & mozzarella salad plus the s&p shrimp. OH!!!! Simply delicious! Then the pav.

Flight was a quick 2 1/2 hours, barely time to do justice to the fine meal that me & my shadow in 1c were nibbling at. Washed down nicely with some of Princess Fiona's favourite BillyCart Salmon ( had it just so I could tell you).

Now finishing off some butter chicken at the CP.
will move to the Hilton sometime tomorrow & see you all in the evening.

Safe travels all.

Oh, and I told the FAs to watch out for you guys tomorrow..

Okay, now I am starting to become wistful reading all the stories of this'd starting the trip to AKL.

Wishing everyone safe travels

Ok...finished packing - carry on only at just under 6 kgs:D. Hope it is not too cold in Akl as I can't fit a jumper into my carryon:shock:. Only a few hours of work to do tomrrow b4 my 330pm flight....

Wasn't really cold at 6ish when I arrived in the CBD. Overcast, but humid enough to make 22 seem warm. If you are warm on the plane you will likely be ok for the short amounts of time we are outside & scurrying between eating venues. Plane was the coldest for me today. Ok, except BNE being 12 when I woke up.

You cold do jumper over the arm or on the back?

IME, even 12 degrees can make wearing a jacket uncomfortable in AKL.

It's generally more humid than BNE but cooler.

The weather had turned. It's raining Not what I would call cold. But a definite chill. Wear a jacket

Kia ora from the Business Centre in the lobby of the Hilton Auckland.

They can't make the wireless work inside this pillbox, so I'm using both my laptop and the supplied computer to get work done before the earliest that our room can be made available, which is 9am.

At least I was let into the gym so I could use the showers there to freshen up. Thumbs up Hilton Auckland.

I told you it was going to rain... It's meant to be about 16 degrees tonight while we're out, Although it looks like it may not be raining early this evening, but with light rain around 11pm.

Also, for people coming to the steak night tonight who want to grab a Taxi, if people could bring $5 each, we should be able to pool that for return taxi transfers (hardly worth catching a bus at that price). Today it all starts :). I know one part of one course for the lunch, and already I'm excited (not that I wasn't already). Unfortunately I have 8 hours of work first, then after work drinks to get through... but I may slip away and join people at the hilton if that's still happening...

There are 3 of us on QF8 with the flight about to push back so we will catch up with some of you in the Qantas First lounge.

Sent from a cool Apple product using Aust Freq Fly app

Well then why is your button still green, tell the CSD to close the doors and push back, you have an important meeting to attend in AKL

It's a pity I had to return to BNE from WLG yesterday as I would like to have joined you in AKL.

Have a good time everyone and get well soon BR

I have been to both Euro and Jervois so I know you will enjoy both experiences
