From 1 February,≈ the BP Plus fuel card will be the only fuel card in the market that offers you Qantas Points for your business when you pay your invoice.* To celebrate, Qantas Business Rewards members can earn up to 100,000 bonus Qantas Points.^ All you need to do is:​ ​

1 .​ Sign up to a BP Plus fuel card by 30 April 2020​ ​

2 .​ Spend $150 per month on fuel over 5 consecutive months to earn 50,000 bonus points​ ​

3 .​ Fill up with over 20,000 litres of fuel within the first 6 months to earn an additional 50,000 bonus points.​ ​

Easy 50,000 points coming up. Unless I can somehow get family members to rack up the petrol consumption on my card there’s no way the second lot of 50,000 points is achievable for me.

Is this going to be the same easy 50,000 QFF as the Caltex card? Does anyone know what the monthly fees are? Caltex was $2.95 a month on top of the spend?

Like many teh $150 per month is easy but the 20,000 litres won't be happening

$4.95 per card for the first two cards, $2.20 per card after that.

Surprising that the ACCC allowed BP/OTR to tie in with QFF.
Seeing they (QFF) has already got a liaison with Caltex (maybe new name Ampol)/WWPetrol (EG Fuelco).
That side will now be a monstrosity, and VFF left with nothing except indirect deal with Shell/Coles Expres (no bonus points) via FB.

Damn. Just reading through the FAQs as I already have a BP Plus account.

If you've already got a BP Plus account then you're not eligible for the 100,000 bonus points. However as long as the ABNs are the same across QBR and BP Plus then the accounts link automatically so you will start accumulating points straight away.

Even my dad driving his prime mover regularly long distance Perth to Port Headland for 6 months wouldn't use that much fuel. Definitely aimed at fleets... and BP doesn't even have that much presence in rural and remote areas

Canberra is much the same. I'll crunch some numbers later to come up with a rough cost of the bonus points, but my gut feeling is that it won't be worth it for me.

Depends where you are in Brisbane as well as the location of the station itself. Agree they are generally more expensive but I have found that when the station is situated with competitors easily accessible (across the road for example) they are forced to compete with decent prices. Nevertheless, even if the $750 of fuel spend to ends up costing $100 more than it otherwise would it’s still a cheap 50,000 points IMO.

My nearest BP is 7Km away and it's prices are typically 7cpl higher than the local woolies (which is 900metres away and across the road from a "united", so discounting is the norm).

Lets say that $150 spend represents 100 litres in which case $150 per month means 500 litres for that 50,000 points at an additional cost of $35 + additional travel fuel + 5 monthly fees.

Worth considering.

If using a QBR AMEX, there will be no CC fee slugged according to the email I received today.

I can't possibly get to 100 litres a month in my wee Micra shuttling up and down the hill to the station

I struggle to get 25 litres in the tank and only need to fill up every 3-4 weeks.

Would it be bad form to hang around outside the servo and ask strangers to swipe my card for me?

As an Amex Platinum Edge cardholder (collecting KF points), I wonder if there is any chance that linking the new BP account to my Amex might still result in the 3 MR points (1.5KF) spent, seeing as it's still fuel. I have a feeling it would not, since it's technically not using the card at a service station directly. Any thoughts from other Edge holders?

Correct. The offer is only for Qantas Business Rewards members, and you need an ABN to join that program.

I thought it was 2c/l discount on unleaded and 3 on premium.

In our area Shell is easily the most expensive on average and BP is usually competitive with the rest

This is my situation as well, shame as the 50k would have been so easy to get for me.
