Brad Banducci is leaving Woolworths, so do we need to be prepared for changes to Everyday Rewards?

They (WW) would have to find a new CEO, who could make changes to the EDR/WWR system.
Time will tell.
Same as the opposition VA CEO who is also departing.
Hopefully/hope that we can still earn QFF rewards (indirectly) via EDR/WWR.
Eyes open.

You love a good (sometimes conspiracy) theory don't you?

Woolies has no reason to drop the association with QF. Clearly they see money in it by patronage. Not to mention to compete with Coles/VA.

A change in CEO is unlikely to removevsomething that contributes to the bottom line.

This bloke is out because he's been a dill. He has stuffed up multiple media opportunities and has b een on the nose for a while plus inquiry into the supermarkets putting pressure on. Simple as that.

Further, the backlash from last time they dropped QF was massive. A devaluation could be possible if Qantas were upping their points cost to WWR. But I think it would be unlikely as it's on par with VA and FB at the moment.

I saw this thread, then looked at the comms.
Nothing listed directly about it, just a mention in a video update about the H1 figures.
It is retiring "from Woolworths" at the end of August.
Says that he feels it is the best time, in Woolworths 100th year, to pass the baton to new talent.
Amanda Bardwell from WooliesX (online) made CEO designate

If you saw his walk out from four corners the other day(and comment about Rod Simms), his response to the selling of Australia Day merch and handling of that etc.. he may have been pushed. It can be spun as retirement for new blood orvwhatever, but he has not put his best foot forward for a while now.

His replacement has been announced as being the current head of their loyalty and eCommerce - so....
I'd say this is more about the focus the company has been putting on online sales over the past 4 years. Rolling out online (pick up only) to almost every store, increasing the amount of stores with the delivery option, the creation and expansion of everyday market, etc.

The part of the video (which was recorded last night) where he talks about leaving does appear that he is trying to hold back tears, but that could be for any number of reasons.

What about more S&G lanes?
That's already been covered. Test failed (over a year ago) due to inconstant availability of reliable phone reception and many customers unwilling to use the free in store wifi where phone network is unreliable.
The existing scan and go lanes won't be removed (without a larger whole store refit), but it won't be added to more stores.

Amanda Bardwell is taking over.
Ah, inside fill in.

Not drop, but maybe tweak.

If you read the article it does say that they did an extensive search for the new CEO before making the decision. So his leaving was known to the board a few days before this one. The walk off probably meant that the announcement was made earlier than expected.

More importantly he is still around until September so far too early to be having any talk of changes coming with the new CEO.

Any company can and do make changes from tome to time regardless if the CEO. 🤷‍♂️
