Brisbane airport, 4 hours between flights

Hi All,

I am traveling to SIN from SYD via BNE on boxing day. Flight from Sydney will land at 7:30 local time with connecting EY flight at 11:40. What do you suggest I do at the airport.
Reading review of the Koru lounge do not make it the most promising of options to spend 4 hours

I don't think you will have much time for anything, it will be busy.

Are you coming Domestic from SYD-BNE? Part of your our hours will be spent making the transit from Domestic to International terminal via the Tbus.

If you are coming on an Int segment from SYD-BNE then you may be staying airside as a transit pax and not have an option to clear the terminal.

The airport is about 20 minutes form the CBD via the tunnel. So that would be 40 minutes of any available transit time.

I don't think there is much to do in that time that will actually get you to do anything other than going in/out of city.

I see you have VA plat status, you can naturally exercise your arrival access entitlements in the domestic lounge given if the lounge is not too full.

Spend more time at VAs Lounge defiantly while at DOM; AirNZs Lounge food is slightly better, but that's the only advantage it has over VAs...

thanks guys. So decision made, will spend time at VA lounge and will leave for international when it is around 2 hours to spare giving me adequate time to move between airport terminals and enjoy some more food before I get on board the economy seat.

Any idea how much will a gate upgrade cost ? and what are the chances of a free upgrade after all it is boxing day and things should be discounted

Being the second busiest day of the year I you'll not spend to much time at the domestic, customs and screening is a zoo even with a priority pass and your at the tail of a lot of big departures, mostly QF.

Highly unlikely, flight is sold out on all levels.

thanks lowjhg, what i found very interesting with the stat you mentioned is that I remember seeing the same one before I booked. A day later seats again became available. Never really understood how the flight gets sold out and then mysteriously next day gets the seat available, then price rises then sold out and then again available at cheaper rate.

If you get through with EY lounge invite in hand, I don't see why not.

That's normally enough, but if you hop by the EY counters they will normally write up a lounge invite. Productivity wise, I don't know how it helps.

The only way I booked EY was via EY themselves, so no experience of VA booking on partner airlines. I would presume that would be the case?

if VA did give you a EY PNR you could see if it's confirmed/go allocate it yourself. Otherwise, you could call up VA to get the EY PNR
