Brisbane & Auckland Air NZ Lounge Access for VA Gold

Flying Air NZ from Brisbane to Vancouver via Auckland tomorrow.

Is anyone able to confirm lounge access at both BNE and AKL for VA Gold status? I'm pretty sure BNE is all good but Air NZ lounge details for AKL seems to suggest that VA Gold access is only for trans-tasman flights.

Have done a quick search but cannot find any further details.

I think you should be OK in AKL for lounge access. It is changing though and after 1 November you wouldn't.

Thanks scwappy. I had assumed it would be OK as well until I checked the details on the Air NZ website and it mentioned trans-tasman with no mention of other international. I know there are restrictions for South Pacific flights. The trans-tasman specification may be in readiness for those changes occurring on November 1.

In the end it didn't matter as we received an upgrade to business from AKL to YVR. However, I did ask the lounge receptionist and she confirmed that VA status was only valid for trans tasman flights. Therefore would have been no entry on the outbound flight but ok on the way back home. Didn't even get to test that due to a flight disruption which caused us to come back via Nadi.
