As mentioned in the previous Brisbane drinks thread there is a drinks night in Brisbane on Wednesday, 10 June 2009 ~5:30pm.

The venue is The Mill Hotel Bar & Restaurant. It is located on Wickham Terrace, on the corner of Bartley St, next to Brisbane Private Hospital, opposite the old Tower Mill and ~100 metres from Jacobs Ladder.

Likely attendees

JohnK
Mal

Possible/Interested

Bundy Bear
Anat0l
samh0004
Lindsay Wilson (If not busy saving the world)

Hope to see everyone there....

Oh and don't forget the Brisbane AFL night in July.

Can't do this date in June, I'll be returning from the USA that day. :-|

When's July's? I may be able to attend ... with sufficient notice.

Will be in Mt Isa on the 10th, coming back through BNE on the 11th on the way back to SYD.

Back up to BNE on the 12th...

So close!

Finally can't keep it a secret anymore. The agony was driving me crazy.

As mentioned in another thread Mal's working visa has been granted for the UK so he will be going back to the old dart shortly. This drinks night will be in honour of Mal and I will ask serfty this afternoon if he can change the thread title to Brisbane Drinks 10 June 2009 (Farewell to Mal) or somthing similar.

Mal and I have been the backbone of the Brisbane drinks nights and he will be sorely missed and I have absolutely enjoyed his company the past year trying to cope with living in Brisbane and his advice and knowledge is always appreciated. Hopefully Brisbane drinks nights will be able to continue without his presence but he will be sorely missed.

On another note munitalP and I kept the Mill Hotel & Restaurant going for another night last night although I got to thank munitalP paid for most of the drinks shouts. Thanks for your company munitalP thoroughyl enjoyed it and you convinced me to stay away from Ryanair. Until next time....

Your more than welcome JK and the feelings mutual - I'm just sorry I was delayed the night before - my calendar says I should make the next one OK - but... work keeps mucking up my drinking time!

I was slightly surprised to find a 152.00 cheque in my wallet this morning... I wonder how much Mr. Heineken & Mr. Turkey had to do with that.... hmmm

Mr!

Thanks John :)

Yeah, this will be my final drinks night in Brisbane as long as everything goes to plan, and probably the last chance to catch up with AFF'ers before I head away (date isn't confirmed yet, but will be late June or early July).

I wish you very well on your foreign excursion Mal. Not likely to catch up prior to your departure, but I'm sure you'll continue to grace this forum from afar.

Thanks John :)

Mal,

I definitely won't be at the June drinks so best wishes for your time away and let us all know when you are coming back, even for a visit.

Enjoy the wonderful English weather :!:

Just a reminder that drinks are on next Wednesday.

Also would be a good time to see Mal before his next big adventure in life and wish him all the best....

Should be good to go here. I assume that, despite the special occasion, we will still be having it at the usual venue?

Thanks John :)

4 months, 12 months, or more. Unsure yet which one. Yes, London is the plan, but work could lead me to another large UK city. No job lined up yet....

I know I'm only a newbie to the forum but I'd love to meet some fellow flyers. I'm Brissie based but rarely there unfortunately. I'm in DRW and Katherine now and next week.

Shame really because my office looks out over Jacobs Ladder. Maybe next time.

When do you arrive in UK Mal ?
I may just have to have a drink over there instead ;)
