I know I'm only a newbie to the forum but I'd love to meet some fellow flyers. I'm Brissie based but rarely there unfortunately. I'm in DRW and Katherine now and next week.

Shame really because my office looks out over Jacobs Ladder. Maybe next time.

Being a newbie I would like to meet other members but I have another function at 6:45 at Toowong. Am I cutting it too fine?

Depends how you are getting to Toowong.

If going by train and the function is close to Toowong railway station the 6:20pm train from Central arrives in Toowong at 6:29pm.

If going by car it would be less than 10 minutes.

Not rude at all. Lindsay Wilson usually only hangs around for an hour as he has family commitments.

A few people might get there earlier than 5:30 too. For me it's a necessity as the train from the Gold Coast isn't all that regular.

I've taken the liberty of creating a group for recording of photos and dates in one spot. Hopefully it'll be useful, though I see the Melbourne group hasn't been updated in a while, so we'll see.

I've also added it to the calendar.

Oh I wasn't suggesting these stop, I was just thinking it'd be nice to have somewhere for all the photos and such, from previous gatherings and future gatherings, to be found. Searching through past months threads to see who was there can be tedious.

I can even transfer the group over to you if you'd like. Seeing as these nights are primarily organised by you.

FWIW, many work places block access to such "Social Group" sites. I guess one really should be working ...

The group is a feature of AFF, so if you can't access AFF from work, then you wont be able to access the group and photos.

I wish my work place blocked access to all forums. I am getting distracted very easily.

Brisbane drinks nights are there for all of us. The organising of the drinks night is a simple thing as we all have a say in deciding the next drinks night.

I am quite happy for you and/or Bundy Bear to have control of the Social group and you will most likely do a much better job than me as Social groups and networking sites do not interest me .

Keeping discussion here is much better. I made a short June post in the social group, but found it wasn't very useful. It was more of just a text to see how well it worked. Answer: not very well. But storing the photos there and such will be useful.

Time for more uni *ugh* work.

Finally got around to adding a post on FT about it as well. Made the start time 5:00pm, I probably turn up at about 5:30pm.
