I'll definitely try to be there, and try to be out a little early as well - a lot is going on this week.

In any case, this mini-meet will not be completely devoid of seriousness - we have a Do that needs some decisions.

On my way. Shouldn't be too far out from BNE now. I have good legroom at my seat!

Drinks did not end at The Mill tonight when we were asked nicely to leave at closing time. A few of us decided to kick on down to the Z-bar which is the backpacker joint on Edward Street down the road.

It was decided that the next drinks night will be on Wednesday, 22 September 2010.

Thoroughly enjoyed everyones company tonight. Looking forward to the next one although it is 5 weeks away.

It's 5 weeks… I might have to have an interim meet-up in a QP/J lounge on my birthday to spare us from such a long session without drinks!

I was not consulted on 5 weeks gap between drinks nights. :( Well you know that there is an extraordinary Brisbane drinks night at the BNE Business Lounge this Friday anyway by the co-founders of the Brisbane drinks nights. :p

If not I will more than likely turn up to the airport for your birthday party at the BNE Business Lounge even though I am in Brisbane that weekend and wanting to play golf to make sure that my game is up to scratch for aonther golf trip to Thailand a couple of weeks later. ;)

I think 5 weeks is ok; it will give my liver some time to recover. :-|

It was good to catch up with old friends but good to see some new people turn up as well.

It will then also work nicely, with 4-5 weeks till the AFF Gathering.

Sounds like a good plan.

I do not think jugs was a good idea last night. I had way too much to drink and I am still feeling sick now. Thank goodness I had 2 Panadeine Forte and a Xanax to relax. Need to head to work soon as I need to catch up. :(

By the way am I seeing things or is my post above different to the one you quoted? When I try to edit it the post it looks different again. Perhaps I am just seeing things.

I really enjoyed the night. It was great to meet some fellow AFFers, and put faces to names.

I must admit that I was a little seedy this morning as well - but I'm blaming it on the walk home from the train station ;)

You were all in good shape when I left at 8.45 pm. Not sure what happened between then and 11.00am the next day, but when I phoned JohnK he sounded as though he was in intensive care at the Hospital thats next to the Tower Mill Hotel where we met for drinks.

I can recall being the last to leave The Mill, and then a backpackers and a mad dash to catch the last train home :p

After being asked to leave the Mill as it was well past closing time, we ended up at the backpackers bar Z-Bar until ~11:45pm. First it was samh004 with a mad dash to make the last Gold Coast train and then Bundy Bear and siegfried rushing to make the last Cleveland train by a minute or so. I went back to my apartment and I was still drinking at ~3:00am while I was making my flight bookings.

By the way I only walked down the hill with them for some excercise. :(

That was over 3 hours plenty of time.

Why is it that every time I catch up with AFFers it usually involves drinking.:!:

Most have heard of PUTI, but there's a syndrome peculiar to FFers/travel addicts called BUTI.

Remorse the next morning? "Holy Fruitcakes Batman- did I really book that?"

No remorse. Good time to book.

Oh I hope you meant to book those flights JohnK.
I meant to book those flights and if Amex now plays fair I managed to get the bookings in before the latest drop in the AUD.

SGD was ~1.23 and is now ~1.20 and THB was ~28.60 and is now ~28.10
