As mentioned in the previous Brisbane drinks thread there is a drinks night in Brisbane on Wednesday, 20 January 2010 ~5:30pm.

The venue is The Mill Hotel Bar & Restaurant. It is located on Wickham Terrace, on the corner of Bartley St, next to Brisbane Private Hospital, opposite the old Tower Mill and ~100 metres from Jacobs Ladder.

Hope to see everyone there....

Looking forward to it! Tonight was the first night I've had more than 3 beers and not had a headache in a while. Clearly good company was the cure. :)

Sze Sze is undecided as to whether she'll be back, but could possibly come.

I should be OK for these drinks.

It is hard to go back to drinking in Australia when drinking in Europe (esp. UK) sports both better beer selections (usu. in pints, not schooners or pots) and usually cheaper.

You could have had a pint tonight. As I recall, you chose a bottle :p

Hi Guys,

I really enjoyed catching up with you all.
Sorry I had to leave a little early last night, was extrememly tired. Played golf during the day and due to the heat became dehydrated.

This morning, I slept in till 7.00 am then I was lethargic and couldn't be bothered heading off to work.

Finally made it to work by 9.30 am. Did they miss me? No.

Now imagine if I had drank a few beers. I would probably slept over at JohnK 's place.

Seasons greeting to you all and have a Healthy and Happy New Year.

Can't go past those $2 AUD pints in Prague :p

It must be just me. Czech beer was awful. Whoever thinks that Czech beer is the best beer in the world is kidding themselves.

I never said it was the best beer  that being said, it certainly wasn't the worst I had!

I didn't say you said it but many people have been telling me Czech beer is the best beer in the world. Some Czech beer is good but the majority is awful. I guess we all have different tastes.

Czech beer isn't the best in the world. That's a really tough one.

But I'd still readily drink a pint of tap beer in the Czech Republic (indeed, almost any where in Europe) whereas I wouldn't do that in Australia. Not only do most people not draw a pint as a standard - or it is expensive - but most tap beers in Australia are ****.

We have Coopers on tap at the UQ Staff Club, but of course you pay a premium for it.

Less than a week to go.
