BUT! It's midweek, so all bets are off

Yeah - you can't quite do that East Coast thing of jumping on a plane after work, go somewhere, do something, then jump back on the last flight to go home (or staying overnight then taking the first flight the next day and scoot straight to work)...

I did that to Melbourne end of February, start of March. Worked out well but had no QP access, nor had a hotel, so slept on a bench in the MEL international terminal until I got on the first flight out of Melbourne back to Brisbane. I was a wreck. Still managed to drive home though.

Sorry, no go for me - if anyone wants a warm up tho, I will be in Rydges southbank on Tuesday night!

LW - I'm on a 5 or 6 PM to SYD - QP?

Mr!
Hmm, just booked my flights, leaving 7.35am on Wed morning and returning Thurs 6pm, so I presume that we'll miss one another.

Might bring along a new face I met up with tonight that isn't a member here but might be one soon. Keen to learn from everyone here and participate, hope that's okay?

Highly probable I'll be flying through Brisbane about that time Thursday.....:D

My boss won't make the decision to get me back to Oz a week earlier than initially planned. I'll still only have 2 weeks at home.

One of these days I'll make it ... are these drinkenings always mid-week?

I might be there slightly early, if I catch the 4PM train. Exactly/roughly where will you be in the bar?

There are long tables out the front of the pub. We normally hang out there on the closest one to the side street. The place is pretty quiet around that time, so we should be easy to find.

We normally sit on stools at the long tables out the front although the weather had been getting a little chilly in the evenings lately. Mal is usually the first one there and I should be there ~5:30pm. If you are not sure where we are then you can always ask at the bar for JohnK. I hope my favourite waitress is working tomorrow night....

Yeah, we'll have to think about moving indoors or to the side patio soon.

Definitely. It was quite nippy with a light breeze when I strolled in just after 7:00pm tonight.

Bump: less than 24 hours.

How about...

"24 hours to go! It's time to booze: Remember to opt-in to join us at The Mill on 22 April at 6pm, or you may lose the chance to have a few rounds with fellow AFFers."

Sweet, I'll be the obviously young person on his own looking around trying to guess if you're my group and looking a little nervous :p

Hope you have a good night and sorry I can't make it.
Disappointing that you can't make it, as you were our guest of honour, but I hope we have a good night. By the way I am not having a drink for you as I am trying to limit my consumption of alcohol to three drinks only....

Thanks to everyone for attending Brisbane Drinks tonight. It is always enjoyable to catch up with old friends and meet up with new people.

Good to meet you Sam and hope to see you again at future Brisbane drinks nights. As usual we had more than our fair share of alcohol and hopefully one of the others will be able to post a photo of our empty beer glass collection throughout the night.

The next Brisbane Drinks night is Wednesday, 20 May 2009 with a very special guest of honour. Details to be posted soon....
