Brisbane Drinks [25th] January 2012

I will be in Brisbane from 20th-27th of January and would like to invite anyone who may be interested to partake in a few drinks,
I'm staying at the Holiday Inn but quite willing to go anywhere with good atmosphere,thinking either Tuesday 24th or Wednesday 25th.
If anyone is interested in coming along it would be great to meet you.
Suggestions for venue/date will be appreciated.

I had a discussion with a few people via phone last week and I was thinking Wednesday 25 January at The Mill.

Ok so The Mill isn't the best place but I was rather disappointed with Irish Murphy's last month.

Samh004 and JohnK will be away but I think I can get a few regulars to turn up.

It won't be a late one for me because I have a early morning BBQ at Maleny the next morning.

I mentioned MJ's to Nigelinoz and depending on how people are getting to, as well as leaving the venue, it can be a great venue. I'll have to check whether Tues or Wed are the go from SWMBO, however if I'm there I'm happy to put my PP card on the table if anyone wants to eat.

I have give there regularly over the past 3 years and loved the service and meals.

There seem to have been a lot of local /domestic events on recently when I am o/s, so I have to just grab the ones I can attend. But yes, sorry to not be attending as I have enjoyed getting to meet people over the past year since I turned up at my first AFF gathering.

And don't worry, I 'll be sure to tell you all about the OneWorld Do. The water landing evacuation practice should be exciting.

Tell me about it - I have missed several local events in the last 12 months due to being overseas.

The late Jan 2011 ATA commiseration event took place while I was away to AUA (via WLG) - these things happen.

MJ's is pretty respectable. The place could use a facelift and the meals are just above if equal to gastropub, but decent nonetheless and pretty good service.

The venue is MJ's on Level 2 of the Holiday Inn Brisbane at 159 Roma Street,Brisbane.I think 6:30PM onwards sounds like a suitable time to me but
more than happy to adjust that to suit individual preferences.
I look forward to a good evening with my AFF friends,both old and new.

Heh heh, at 7 and 5 they are almost able to look after themselves. A bowl of chips would keep them entertained for a little while I guess.
