QF websites says BNE int lounge opens 90 mins before first departure... of the few international flights they do have on QF, once a week QF20 from Manila stops over around 3:40am, leaving around 5 - the next regular flights departing are hours later.

So does the lounge open around 3:30 as advertised on Tuesdays or is the entire place closed? Haven't been airside at BNE international before so not sure if I'm in for trouble or not. A basic breakfast/snack would be nice but I'll be saving myself for trying the refreshed SYD J lounge offering.

It was open when I have used QF20 before.

Thanks for this clarification. I actually forgot I asked after being away for a few days

There is a general lack of information on the BNE international J lounge on here and FT so I may (try to remember to) take a few photos and write some comments about the it. Don't worry, I have low expectations :-)

I have never seen it crowded, a good range of food and liquor and not too far from the gates, nothing to right home about but nothing bad either.

Try being up there between 830-1100 before QF15 departs - it was madness both times we've used it!

It's not the greatest lounge, but it's not too bad either.

I did mean to say I have never seen it crowded for the QF20 departure ;), I have had the pleasure of being there friday evenings when the POM flight used to continue on to Sydney and storms hit, very different story.

The BNE International Business Lounge is nothing special but it is OK as far as lounges go.

I was there around a month ago on a Friday night and the food on offer was exactly what you would see in a domestic lounge. Some cold meats and salads. There was a few varieties of beer, wine, the usual spirits available, internet access and the lounge was relatively quiet as there are no more Qantas flights for the night and is only used as a contract lounge by some airlines.
