I am travelling this evening BNE- DXB on EK435 in economy, as a P1, which lounge is "nicer" the EK or the QF, as i should be able to access either?
Also do you think being in the EK lounge may give any additional chances when asking about an upgrade?

I have not been in either, but I suggest you try both if you have enough time.

Try the QF one first as its on the way, and will help make the EK one look a lot better, then head to the EK one which has direct aircraft access. Little chance of an OP up, wide open in all booking classes.
