I will be landing at Brisbane airport on a United flight on a Friday at 6:30am and have a 9:15am Qantas domestic flight.
These are both on separate tickets (Qantas flight booked in business class using points on the Qantas website, only time available using classic points, next flight using classic points was at 7:30pm).
Will 2 hours 45 mins be enough time? Can you use the domestic transfer desk at the international terminal to check into the Qantas flight and drop of the luggage and get the shuttle to domestic terminal?
Also hoping to have enough time to get to the lounge and have a shower after a long flight and before the domestic flight.

Yes you’ll be able to check in at the transfer desk, the bus provided is by the airport not Qantas so it’s open to everyone (unlike Sydney). It’s also more frequent.

You could also just take your bags on the bus and check in at the domestic terminal through premium entry (direct to lounge). I’d probably do that if it were me.

2:40 is plenty of time as long as your flight is on time. MCT is 1:30 If it’s more than an hour late you might have an issue.

The shuttle bus, is for anyone, everyone, via the public road.
It might go off to Skygate, then to BNE dom.
Its orange in colour, no need to show any BP or anything like that.
You might be able to drop off your bags at the int transfer desk, and get the QF BP, or you could do OLCI while waiting for your plane hold bags at the carousel at BNE int.
Have done the transfer by bus and train several times, the train, also you have to wait, but at the least its the least time to get across, trip wise, its more so waiting fro the train from the city.
$5 I think was the transfer fee from BNE dom -> BNE int airport terminals, and vv.

$4.50 if you buy the Airtrain tix online, saving $0.50.
Gocard will charge you $5.10.

You have to wonder (environmentally, logistically, capacity etc) why the need for the bus service when the train exists……

Both are easy. Just seems duplication of something that could all be done by the rail service.

The bus gives passengers a free option to transfer, but most likely because the train barely operates. 15 minutes frequencies during peak and 30 minutes off peak.

The train does not operate after 10pm from the airport every day (which is not useful for those trying to connect to the numerous midnight departures, or before 5am weekdays and 6am weekends.

IMO the bus is really quite good. It’s frequent and it’s quick. It’s actually less walking than the train where you’ve got to go up a lot of escalators (or lift).

I prefer the setup at BNE compared to QF’s at SYD.

There’s two routes, the dedicated terminal transfer bus only goes to the two terminals and runs every 10 minutes, and takes 5 minutes.

You can get the Skygate bus which is less frequent and goes via Skygate.
