This coming Friday and Saturday in Brisbane is the annual Oktoberfest celebrations at the Brisbane German Club, opposite the Gabba.

For anyone that will be in Brisbane on the Friday night you’re invited to come and have a drink with the regulars of the Brisbane Drinks nights, and anyone else that turns up. We’re hoping to get a table somewhere in the venue to have dinner and drinks.

The night starts at 6PM and ends LATE. Location:

The Brisbane German Club is situated south of the Brisbane River, close to the city and Southbank Parklands, on 416 Vulture St, just opposite the "Gabba" football stadium. It can be reached by bus and train, and for the driving public the Club has a carpark.

Cover charge is $5 for members, $10 for non-members. Social membership is $5 and lasts a year, so it all works out.

If you’re interested in what’s on the menu…

Confirmed:

If you’re thinking of coming and would like a mobile number (so you can find us… it’ll be busy), by all means, please PM.

I shall be heading there early to hopefully snag a few seats in the beer hall, so we can have beer, food AND entertainment.

Can’t wait for the chicken dance :p

Done properly? Are you sure? On Facebook you said the steins were only 0.5L ;)

Now.. while steins do come in 0.5L and 1L, for Oktoberfest.. the real way to do it is 1L, where's the fun in 0.5L?! :D

They’re glass steins, not ceramic.

And more of a novelty than something to actually have beer in.

And the volume of the glass depends on the beer involved. Weissbier is only served in half litres.

Which is what Erdinger is :p

Was a good night, and now I’m recovered I can watch the AFL GF… though I’m not sure I want to have a beer :p

I think after the result you'll be needing a beer!
