Based on our experience, yes. Little Miss's bottle was about 300mL (fitted perfectly in the bottle holder slot in the Sky Bed MkI), and mine is 600mL.
No queries at all, they were always packed into our carryon, not scanned separately, and not stored somewhere visible like in the side pockets
of Mr Katie's Targus backpack.
I can drink up to 3-4L of water a day, so I like having water with me. :)

Interesting, anyone else experienced this. They have always confiscated containers that hold more than 100ml ??

thanks for replying

This is a great TR - glad to hear you all had fun, including Little Miss Katie - just adorable :).

Thanks serfty, will keep that in mind! I
PHP:
'd bought Sigg water bottles for Little Miss and me, and filled them up from the water fountain in the A/C after we'd pass security for each flight
. But the coffee might have been a good idea on some of our stops.
Katie, are you allowed empty containers that hold more than 100ml past security in and to the states?

good idea nonetheless. ...

I do not know about always confiscating; there were some misinformed security people in the early days of this and this did happen.

The rule bans "... Liquids in Containers > 100ml ... ", not "... Containers > 100ml ..."; so this is fine.

Great TR! nice and meaty and picky and full of interesting details.

Good to see I'm not the only one who photographs airline food, though some of those kids meals appear to have been served with the plane standing on its tail.

You deserve a medal or something for travelling with Little Miss Fairy Wings. I used to have one of those, and yes she would wear her fairy or princess clobber in the most inappropriate of places. Ah well, parents collect a lot of smiles that way.

This is where lounge access comes in handy. Showers and cheap drinks and snacks and a reasonably secure area for the young'un.

On that note, how did the cabbie handle the vomit incident? In Canberra we're allowed to charge $50 soiling, though I only ever needed to do that during my first year or so. After a while I got very wary of passengers looking a bit greenish and would instruct them on the protocol ("Just let me know you are going to be sick and you'll see how fast a cabbie can stop!") and the locations of the airsickness bags I'd snaffled from my last flight. But, well, sometimes it happens and I kept a box of sturdy tissues handy to help clean up.

I get the Admirals Club drinks chits and maybe use one or two - usually remembering to tip the bartender - and then pass on any remaining to whoever looks like a hearty drinker when my flight is called.

Sounds like a great trip and doubtless you'll be reliving it in photographs for years to come. A hassle at the time with the mess and the interrupted sleeps, but there's a lot to love about making kids happy.

Had to laugh at your special Mothers Day dinner. America is very much the Land of Food, but sometimes you have to jump through hoops to get it, and random fast food takes its place. Very random indeed, sometimes.

You want to do Pier 39A again, Bubba Gumps Shrimp Company beside the carousel is a fun food place.

Pete, saluting the brave parents
