What kind of documentation do Amex UK ask for? e.g. do they need a UK mobile number and address?

yes i believe they need a UK mobile number and address and a current bank account. not sure if you can put Australian company down as employer if you are doing a global transfer for Uk but it worked for me for NZ. note once approved you can simply update mobile and address to your australian one when required.

it turns out i didnt have to supply a uk current account or proof of employment. I just noted down my closed Au membership number on the application. It took the global team about 10 working days , all they asked for was ID. They also gave me an extra offer of an extra 1000 points if i spend 500 pounds within 3 months . I opened a simple free plan Monese digital bank account to pay the Amex card off. They have a 15 pound referral offer ATM.
