1.5 Aussie cents is a pretty reasonable price on the vente-privee offer (EDIT: oops its 1.8 Aussie cents. The post on loyalty lobby was in Eurocents not US ones)

I think I've finally got the hang of the iberia offer process which can be tricky

Sounds reasonably marginal in terms of value to me though I am sure some will be able to leverage this.

hese are good for short-haul travel, e.g. on QANTAS:

Exactly. I just purchased enough to cover one of my rare long domestic J trips on QF next year, BNE-HBA. Cost via this offer was almost exactly 1/3 of the cost of buying the ticket, at the moment.

Last minute, shorter-haul trips can be even better value.

Is this available to purchase now? Not sure if we buy now (which my computer won't let me do...) and we get the code from 15 December. Or we purchase from 15 December.

Problem solved. Several of the links seemed to go to old versions of the sale. Going in directly from the ventre-privee site allowed me to buy.
